A great win today v Southampton. Someone tweeted earlier that our 49 game unbeaten run started with a 6-1 win over the Saints. Are the omens there?
It has been refreshing that over the last couple of games, all that we’ve wanted to see from The Arsenal in the Emirates years seems to be all coming together.
We seem to have now a team/squad wanting to play for each other, not necessarily for their bank managers. Out go those prima donnas, for those happy to be playing for the club and seemed determined to get us back near the top.
We’re pressing hard, going up together, coming back together.
We’re playing great football. I purred at some of the play today v Southampton. The intricate passing between Arteta, Cazorla, Podolski and co. is superb.
We have a strong bench. I feel that should in games we get unstuck we have players that can either change games (Arshavin, Walcott, Giroud) or help close games.
There is a sense of belief around the club following the ‘despair’ of losing RVP and Song. Proof once more that no one player is bigger than the club.
Now of course it could all come crumbling down, but I really feel that this team may have what it takes to push on. Time will tell and a huge test comes next Sunday v Man City.
For now let’s enjoy it as much as Cazorla and especially Podolski who seems permanently delighted to be at The Arsenal. How refreshing!
