He’s got no hair

What can I say about our win today, a stroll? or easy? I’d like to think solid with punch.

Make no bones about it,Liverpool were poor and in real trouble with no real striker and in Gerrard, a fading light.

But that shouldn’t mask another great defensive performance by Arsenal. It is not Cazorla or Podolski who has been the best signing, but Stevie Bould. It is easy to see his impact instantly. Jenkinson, Per, TV5 and Gibbs have looked solid and, more importantly in the right place. They have fought for every ball and worn their hearts on their sleeves. They’ve also learnt not to lunge in.

Being a product of the George Graham era this is so heart warming to see.

I’m also enjoying seeing Podolski work hard tracking back and Diaby was immense. The key is keeping him fit.

Santi has shown again why we made him our record signing, quality passing about and likes to go for the jugular, hence his goal.

A goal for Giroud will come. He actually leads the line very well.

Rarely we now go into an international break on a high, just hope all our international players come back in one piece.

Mannone – did what had to do. 7
Jenkinson – looking more solid. 7
TV5 -rock solid. 8
Per – despite early yellow, composed himself and is master of putting his foot in. 8
Gibbs – never stops. 8
The Ox – pretty non- existent today, his chance will come. 5
Diaby – four letters MOTM. Immense. Tackled, harried, drove forward, distributed well. 10
Arteta – Mr Cool, won and ran most things.8
Santi – getting better and better. Who needs Cesc? Deserved his goal. 9
Giroud – led the line well, tries hard. Missed a great chance and should have done better with a header. 6
Podolski – class finish from a class player. Also tracks back and always looks happy to be a Arsenal. 9
