For me, the game tomorrow is pivotal to our whole season. A win, a loss or a draw could mean so many things.
A win will give the whole club and maybe us fans the belief we could actually mount some form of challenge not only for the top 4 but for the title.
The Xmas period of games are winnable but there are soooo many! We’ve got no full backs at all, and RVP is one twist of the knee or ankle away from a 6 month layoff, leaving us with no strikers as Chamakh goes off to the African’s Nation.
I just want us to crawl over the line to 1st Jan with our CBs and RVP fit. However a win tomorrow and a good run may convince Arsene that this team/squad are good enough for a challenge resulting in no January signings. Arsene has been here before and has criminally let us down when we just needed a couple of signings to propel us to the winning the league.
Man City are pretty awesome and for £200m+ they should be but their physical strength worries me and I’ll be glad to get a point but a heavy defeat could be disastrous. You can forget winning the league but I’m more worried about finishing at least 4th. We know we ride on confidence and a heavy defeat could mean it takes a few games for us to recover. That could spell an awful Xmas period and we find ourselves 6+ points off 4th.
The Spuds are doing well and most of their next half dozen fixtures are laughable.Chelsea will get stronger and we know Manure come good after Xmas. Despite having Suarez i think Liverpool are average at best.
The only silver lining to a defeat could be that Arsene goes out and splashes a bit of cash in January. Geotze would be good but some line like Podolski excites me- a proven world class goalscorer.
Here’s to the game. C’mon you Gunners!!!
